Is  Manchester  nice  place  to  live?

What a question.

Well, to save you time, the answer is yes.

And that’s with our bias put aside.

But for the deeply curious among you, let’s touch on what makes Manchester the place to live, work, play, and more.

Over the past few years, we’ve seen a boom in people moving to our neck of the woods, especially young professionals and creatives who are looking to set up shop in a city that reflects their rich lives and varied pursuits.

It’s touted as one of the most liveable cities in the UK, taking into account a number of factors such as education, healthcare access, crime rates, and political and social stability.

All good things to have under our belt.

But, what about the numbers?

Manchester houses a rich population of over 500,000 beautiful people (if we don’t say so ourselves) and is the third most visited city in the UK by tourists hailing from overseas, narrowly beaten by Edinburgh and London.

We’re still neck-and-neck with Birmingham for the official title of the UK’s second city, but in our hearts, we know we’re number one to those that count.

With a rich industrial history based within the textile market, making Manchester one of the cotton capitals of the North, it quickly became the world’s biggest market for the stuff.

This heritage actually forms the gorgeous architectural features found about and around Kampus, sculpting the high ceilings and cobbled streets that weave around our offering.

Places  to  go,  people  to  see

Manchester is an excellent choice for those who want a bit of everything. Well stocked with bars, galleries, parks, world-class museums, shopping districts, music venues and sports arenas – including two top Premier League football teams – there’s plenty to be passionate about.

But the city isn’t resting on its laurels just yet. It’s got work to do.

Manchester has been undergoing consistent urban regeneration and rejuvenation since the late 90s, getting thoroughly primped, plucked, and tucked when it comes to improving its offering to those looking to make a life here.

It’s now home to both big names and the little-less-known, quickly developing into a hot spot that hasn’t forgotten its roots.

Although there are plenty of shopping and entertainment choices, such as the Arndale, which has quickly transformed into one of the country’s favourite places to purchase – fierce independents still make their mark, especially in the bustling Northern Quarter.

Buzzin'  to  meet  ya

Our city’s symbol is the humble worker bee. You can no doubt spot it on lamposts, art installations and more while on your travels, from its industrious image represented in civic spots to a rainbow-striped edition throughout The Village on Canal Street.

Far from being a sweet bit of modern marketing, the bee has been the emblem of Manchester for well over 150 years. It represents the general hustling, bustling and productivity that occurs throughout the city, as well as the sheer amount of effort it takes to continually push for progress.

Mancunians are grafters. But we also stick together, stoking serious pride in our hive and the things we can create.

It’s a sweet message that goes beyond honey.

In fact, it’s all about connections – which is something us lot here at Kampus value in spades.

So whether you’re focusing on the experiential or are simply keen on forming a base of your own to call home, you’d be hard pressed to find anywhere better than Manchester.

Is it worth moving to Manchester?

Listen, Lonely Planet listed us as one of the best places to live in the world – so there’s got to be some stock in that.

But if you’re looking to up sticks and move from places further afield – such as beyond the M60 – Manchester is an excellent candidate.

It’s the city’s pride and authenticity that make it one of the best places to live.

You’re never far from a friendly face thanks to our fierce sense of community, which encompasses you from Kampus to beyond.

This comes courtesy of excellent transport links, working opportunities and an international reach fueled by one of the quickest-growing economies outside of London. As we said before, we’re a productive bunch, which means we are proud to be home to entrepreneurial prowess and business acumen of all kinds.

We’ve since seen all sorts of companies find their places with us, such as the landmark shift of the BBC to Salford Quays in 2011 and a number of world-class headquarters dotted about the city centre and outward districts.

But it’s not all work and no play.

Manchester is one of the UK’s creative hubs, housing some of the true greats when it comes to traditional and modern art forms, from tangible history and the stuff you can hang on the wall to live festivals and celebrations.

Get your eyeballs around the following spots for cultural excellence:
• Manchester Art Gallery
• The John Rylands Library
• The Museum of Science & Industry
• Whitworth Art Gallery
• The Imperial War Museum
• The Lowry
• The People’s History Museum
• Manchester Museum
And many, many more.

Music

Manchester has a sound like no other. Forming the backbone of iconic bands like Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Smiths, New Order, Happy Mondays and many (many) more, there’s always something new to tune into.

With a wealth of new music launching onto the scene, from homegrown talent to global exports, our venues are also second to none, such as Manchester Arena, the O2 Apollo and plenty of independent spots that are just waiting for you to explore.
When it comes to treating your eyes and ears, Manchester has it in spades.

Dining

There’s always something being served up, here.

Travel the world by fork through the spiced flavours of the Curry Mile, tuck into authentic bao buns and broth in Chinatown or settle into foods from France, Spain and beyond. No matter your preferred cuisine, there is a truly impressive catalogue of restaurants that can be found in the Manchester City Centre.

We’ve even got nine places listed in the Michelin Guide, for the true foodies amongst you.

But who says you can’t stay at home and have fun?

At Kampus, you’re never too far from sampling the stuff that makes your mind and mouth go, “wow.”

From our mainstay, Pollen bakery, to regular indie food and drink pop-ups in our very own Neighbourhood, there’s truly something for stomachs of all styles.

Plus, we’re about to open our General Store, which is set to be stocked with everything you need to keep your fridge filled with ample supplies. Whether it’s a last-minute movie night or succinctly stocked for an upcoming dinner party with friends, we’ve got you covered.
